Steve Austin Praises WWE’s Chelsea Green: ‘She’s Pretty Fearless Out There’

Over the years, WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has admitted that he hasn’t kept up with professional wrestling as much as he would have liked due to several of his business ventures, such as managing his Broken Skull Beer company and Dessert Racing. However, there are still some talented people out there today who have impressed him, and in a recent interview with “The TakeDown On SI,” he praised WWE star Chelsea Green for not being afraid to take creative risks on the main roster.

“When you first join this industry, you’re an idiot,” Austin said. “That’s what you do, unless you’re Shawn Michaels and you figure it out from day one. When you’re starving and making $15 and $20 a night, you realize you’d better get good quickly and learn how to reach people on an emotional level so you can start making some money. I think Chelsea Green does that a lot. She’s very fearless out there. She’s going to give it her all from a creative standpoint, and that’s a great job for her.”

Even though Monday is “Austin 3:16 Day,” “The Diamondback” revealed he won’t be on tonight’s “WWE Raw” episode to celebrate as he’s preparing for a dessert match later this week and will be in a garage in Nevada. Still, several reports in January suggested that WWE was considering arranging Austin’s return, and with “Raw” taking place in his home state of Texas, there was always the possibility that the 61-year-old would try to keep his appearance on tonight’s show a surprise.
