The Golden State Warriors’ trade season was viewed by many as a huge disappointment.

The team looked to acquire the highly coveted Milwaukee Bucks but instead ended up with the injury-prone Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis is a talented low-post threat and the best center the Warriors have had in years.
However, the former Boston Celtics NBA champion’s injury history suggests his chances of playing in crunch time are slim.
With the Warriors having a less-than-ideal trade season, Andscape’s David Dennis Jr. believes the team’s superstar point guard Stephen Curry has every right to leave the Bay Area and join a contender.
“This is a complete failure for the Golden State Warriors,” Dennis Jr. said Wednesday night after the Warriors acquired Porzingis.

“They’re putting all their eggs in Giannis Antetokounmpo’s basket because they have no other choice. For the past decade, management has tried to convince us that they are light years ahead of everyone and working toward the future, even though they have generational star Steph Curry on their roster.”
“The best thing for the Warriors is that Waddle Stephen Curry didn’t go to the front office, knock on the door and say make me a contender, because he has every right to do that based on what they’ve done around him the past few years.”
If the Warriors’ 2025-26 season doesn’t end on a positive note, there’s no guarantee Curry will be content to stay with this mediocre team. The four-time NBA champion is in his 30s and has made it clear he wants to win another championship before retiring.
Golden State’s failure to make that possibility a reality could result in a headline-worthy split that the Warriors have no one to blame but themselves. In other words, asking the Warriors to trade this offseason could be a viable option for Curry, considering the Warriors are still some distance away from championship contention.
