Pittsburgh Steelers fans started their day with some potentially bad news as veteran defensive tackle Cameron Heyward posted a cryptic image on social media that some speculated could be a retirement tease.
Heyward posted an animated image of someone closing a book on the X website on Sunday morning, sending fans into a frenzy as they wondered if the longtime Steelers defensive lineman was ready to call it quits.
In 2025, Hayward continued to challenge Father Time and was selected to the All-Pro Second Team for the second time in his career.

The 36-year-old Hayward’s future has been in question the past few offseasons. But if he wants to end his NFL career, it makes perfect sense to do so now that Mike Tomlin has resigned as Steelers head coach.
