An exciting winger could announce himself as Mo Salah’s replacement this week.
Regardless of whether Arne Slott remains as head coach of the football club, the Egyptian’s era appears to be coming to an end.

With interest from Saudi Arabia growing ahead of the January transfer window, it would not be surprising if Liverpool considered accepting an offer for Salah.
Just a few months ago, this would have been unthinkable. However, relations have soured and his outburst behind Leeds in the mixed zone only proved something was not quite right.
It feels as if someone doesn’t want him to stay at the club, as Salah himself hinted to him. Neither slot machines nor club boards are of any practical significance.
Still, Salah’s words of farewell to Liverpool fans during the game against Brighton at Anfield seemed to be enough to show how bad things have become.

With Salah heading to the Africa Cup of Nations, that match at Brighton could be his last for Liverpool. It would be a sad end for the club legend.
It’s fitting that Salah’s eventual heir to the throne will announce himself during the weekend’s game.
Liverpool faced a talented Brighton side. But Yancuba Minter had a brilliant talent. His performances this season have been outstanding and Liverpool consider him a replacement for Salah.
Minter’s output ability is different from Salah. But he provides pace on the flanks and has the ability to play as a full-back. As a winger, he is more of a facilitator. He will cross from the wing to create opportunities for his teammates.

This is exactly what Liverpool needs in their forward line-up right now. Arne Slot’s comment about the Reds not having a figure like Jacob Murphy in the squad is true no matter what you think.
Minteh is one such profile. He could help unlock Alexander Isak and maybe even make Hugo Ekitike better.
It would therefore be fitting if he performed well at Anfield this week, declaring himself Salah’s successor in the process.
Sometimes, a good show is enough. It’s not just about convincing the board, but also the fans. Take Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino, Luis Diaz or Darwin Nunez for example.

They both caught the eye against Liverpool before moving to Anfield.
Minteh could well be next. He fits the image Liverpool want in the post-Salah era. He won’t be as prolific as the Egyptian, but he will create more chances and he could make Liverpool a more balanced team.
The fact that he’s already worked with Slot is an added bonus. Maybe bringing in Minter could even save the coach’s job.
