After two seasons, spencer emerson will no longer coach Falmouth (my) football team.
Emerson posted on social media on Monday that he would be resigning as the Navigators’ head football coach after two seasons, one of which led to a 2024 state championship. The following is an excerpt from Emerson’s post on X (formerly Twitter) about his resignation.

Today I resigned as head coach at Falmouth High School
I am so grateful for the relationships and memories I have made over the past few years.
It is a privilege to coach these players and work with these families, staff, boosters and supporters who support them. Thank you to the entire Falmouth community for your trust and support in me and my family.
Emerson was named Falmouth’s head coach in the spring of 2024 after previously serving as offensive coordinator at the University of Chicago. Emerson made immediate results at Falmouth after taking over a Navigator program that went 2-6 in 2023.
Falmouth went 11-0 in his first year at Emerson, winning the Maine Principals Association (MPA) Class B state championship. Emerson led the team back to the playoffs last season, but lost in the second round.

When Emerson took over the program, he faced a difficult situation as Falmouth had just parted ways with its longtime head coach. John Fitzsimmons.
According to the final results of the Maine High School Football Massey Rankings for the 2025 season, Falmouth is ranked No. 11 in the state.
