AS Monaco is pleased to announce the arrival of Simone Ardingara. The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international winger joins the club on loan from Sunderland (Premier League) until the end of the season, with an option to buy.
Simon Adingra, 24, was born in Yamoussoukro (Côte d’Ivoire) and trained at the ABIS Sports Academy in Benin (2016-2020) before joining the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana in 2020. He then continued his development at Danish football club North Zealand, where he signed his first professional contract.

United Saint-Gillois have had an extraordinary season
He made his senior debut on 18 April 2021 against FC Copenhagen and made an immediate impact, scoring a goal. During his time with the Danish club, the winger played 40 games, scoring a total of 12 goals and providing 4 assists. His outstanding performances earned him a move to the Premier League in the summer of 2022, joining Brighton.
He was subsequently loaned to Seagulls partner club Saint-Gilloise United. In Belgium, Simone Ardingra had an outstanding season, making 51 appearances, contributing 15 goals and 14 assists, playing a key role in Saint-Gillois United’s successful season in 2022-2023, culminating in a podium finish.
Goals against well-known teams in England
After returning to England the following season, the left-winger gradually established himself in Brighton’s first team, making a total of 73 appearances in two seasons (12 goals and 5 assists). He scored against Luton Town in his first Premier League game and went on to score against high-profile opponents such as Liverpool, Everton and Aston Villa.

2023 Africa Cup of Nations Champion and Best Young Player
In parallel with his club career, Simon Adingra also participated in the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire. After an impressive campaign in which he was named best young player, he later played a decisive role in the Elephants’ victory with two assists in the final (2-1). After that game, he was also named the man of the match.

Simon Adingra joins the Principality from Sunderland, where he joined last summer and has made 15 appearances for the club. He will bring his directness and pace to Rouge & Blanc. After spells in Denmark, Belgium and England, the winger is now set to start his career in Ligue 1 in Monaco’s colors and with the number 24.
