Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold’s practice Thursday for Super Bowl 60 may have been as encouraging as his oblique injury.
Darnold injured his oblique muscle just before the NFC Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers and was unable to play, but he soldiered on and had a clean game to earn a big win. He was limited in practice throughout the NFC Championship Game before tearing apart the Los Angeles Rams and remained that way until Thursday. This is his first official appearance since Jan. 14, which doesn’t have much of an impact on whether he plays or not, but is still a positive sign for his recovery.

McDonald said the rookie defensive back’s training will be conducted with caution, which was confirmed by Eman Worry not practicing Thursday. Again, there’s nothing to worry about until there’s something to worry about.
“He’s going to be ready to go no matter what,” McDonald said. “Let’s do what’s smartest for us and him every day and make sure we’re ready to go. We’ll evaluate tomorrow and see how much he can do.”
Charles Kroos is limited with a foot injury, but this could be another case of injury management. Linebacker Robbie Utz was limited with a neck injury, which is even more concerning considering he hasn’t been in the media booth the past two days.
The rest of the Seahawks are all-round players, so the news on that front is mostly good. Here are the penultimate injury reports for the 2025 NFL season:
