Well, if you’re a Philadelphia Eagles fan, that’s not what you want to hear.

When asked by Jeff McLean of the Philadelphia Inquirer about the energy the Philadelphia Eagles have on the sideline, star running back Saquon Barkley offered up a concerning note.
“Honestly, I think it’s terrible,” Buckley said. “Ask anyone, if they’re honest, we all agree on that.”
This statement leads to an obvious follow-up question: Why has energy been so bad? This is obviously something the Eagles need to figure out, and frankly, they should figure it out before Week 14 of the season.
But, according to Barkley, a lack of energy during the game is not indicative of how the team performs the rest of the time, so at least that’s it.

“But most importantly, I thought the energy throughout practices, walkthroughs and meetings was great,” Buckley said. “Now we have to take it to game day.”
Overall, the Eagles’ performance this season seems to be lacking in fun. Maybe it’s the weight and pressure of defending a Super Bowl title and the expectations placed on the team after winning it all earlier this year. Or maybe it’s fatigue after playing such a long schedule last season.
Whatever the reason, the Eagles need to find a way to increase their energy and joy on game day. Their first opportunity will come against the Chargers on Monday Night Football in Los Angeles.
The Eagles will be desperate to win in Los Angeles after losing to the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears in consecutive games. Philadelphia still holds the lead in the NFC East, but the Cowboys have become more popular in recent weeks. They had won three straight games before losing to the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football this week.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is clearly more involved in Philadelphia’s offensive preparation this week, so we’ll see how that affects the Chargers, if at all.
