Ricky Pearsall injury news: What status means for Week 18 vs. Seahawks

The San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks will meet in a marquee Week 18 showdown at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The season-ending battle between the two is for the NFC West championship and the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs.

The 49ers have been dealing with a variety of injuries, but they should have some key playmakers available. One of those players is wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who is expected to play despite ongoing knee and ankle issues.

Ricky Pearsall injury update

Pearsall has dealt with a variety of injuries this season. He started the season strong with two 100-yard performances in his first four games. He suffered the injury in his fourth game of the season and missed the next six weeks. The recovery from there was slow, and then he injured his ankle on a hip-drop tackle on his first play in Week 15. He came back and finished the game, but then missed the team’s Week 16 game. He was limited in practice leading up to Week 17, but eventually played in the game and finished with five catches for 85 yards.

Pearsall has been limited to three days of training this week and has been named questionable. There was no sign of things getting worse last Sunday, so you should expect him to play.

Fantasy Football Analysis

The 49ers may also have George Kittle return for this game. While Brock Purdy has another mouth to talk to, the 49ers offense has been hot as of late. Of course, they face a tougher matchup this week in the Seahawks. The Bears and Colts defenses are solid enough this year, but the Seahawks’ defense is much improved. From a pure injury standpoint, there’s no reason to avoid Pearsall. He’s a WR3 this week and has some WR2 upside.
