represent. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) is facing bipartisan backlash for a recent Islamophobic post on X, in which he wrote: “It wouldn’t be difficult to choose between dogs and Muslims if they forced us to choose.”
Fein’s post comes in response to Palestinian-American activists Nadine Kiswanihe wrote: “Dogs certainly have a place in society, just not as indoor pets. As we have said all along, they are not clean.”
Although the Quran does not specifically describe dogs as “unclean,” many Muslims shun these animals. prophet muhammad’s Dog saliva is believed to be “impure” and requires ritual cleansing if it comes into contact with believers.
california state government Gavin Newsome (D) responded to Fine’s inflammatory post in the harshest possible terms, writing: “Resign now you racist slob.”
Fine responded, “Idiot, Islam is not a race. It is a religion. Some leadership in New York is calling for the abolition of dogs. Good luck bringing it to California.”
represent. Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) Calls on House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) Condemn Fine.
“If anyone said something so vile in any workplace, they would be fired,” she wrote. “Randy Fine has repeatedly dehumanized Muslims with no consequences. This is unacceptable and Congress should not normalize it. @SpeakerJohnson should condemn him immediately. If Fine cannot meet the most basic standards of human decency, he should resign.”
represent. Brendan Boyle (Democrats) also joined in the call to recall Fein, writing: “Randy Fein is an ugly bigot. He should not be in Congress.”
Pollster Mark Mitchell of the right-leaning Rasmussen Reports quoted Fann’s post on Twitter, writing: “Hey @GOP, it doesn’t look good.”

In recent days, Fine has also declared that “Palestinians are synonymous with evil” and said that the mayor of New York Zoran Mamdani (D) “Jihadi Mamdani,” “responsible for the increase in Muslim terror in New York City.”
“Strip him of his status and deport him now,” he added.
