Report Warriors pursuit of Giannis Antetokounmpo has come to an end

Questions surrounding the future of two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have dominated headlines over the past few weeks leading up to the 2026 NBA trade deadline. After reports surfaced that Antetokounmpo wanted to leave the Bucks, the Golden State Warriors were among the teams linked to the 10-time All-Star. The Warriors have long wanted to bring in Giannis Antetokounmpo to pair with Stephen Curry, according to multiple reports.

With the addition of Antetokounmpo, the Warriors became one of the teams considered a potential landing spot for a blockbuster, league-changing trade at the deadline. However, the Warriors appear to have exited the race for Antetokounmpo as they added 7-foot-2 big man Kristaps Porzingis on Wednesday night.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Wednesday night on SportsCenter that Antetokounmpo is done. According to Charania, the Warriors made a “draft-weighted” offer to the Bucks for Antetokounmpo last week. However, the Warriors don’t believe the Bucks will trade Antetokounmpo before the deadline, according to Charania.
