The New York Giants have also requested an interview with Indianapolis Colts passing game coordinator Alex Tenney for their offensive coordinator vacancy, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported:
It was previously reported that the Giants also requested to interview Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Coote for the same opening.

Clearly, new Giants head coach John Harbaugh or someone in New York’s senior leadership is a big fan of Colts head coach Shane Steichen’s offensive system and guile, especially with the proteges now under his coaching tree.
Still, it has a long way to go to become Sean McVay’s highly sought-after coaching tree.
As for Tunney, the 38-year-old former NFL quarterback played for the Giants from 2018-20 and has been the Colts’ passing game coordinator since 2024 and previously served as the Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach (2023), among other career offensive coaching roles on Nick Sirianni’s staff.
In 2015, during his extensive NFL playing career, he also joined the Colts’ practice squad.

It’s hard to say exactly what Tenney brings to the team, but he appears to be an up-and-coming young offensive mind who helped the Colts coach a top-10 NFL offense last season — with mid-career starting quarterback Daniel Jones missing the final four games of the regular season.
If Coote takes the Giants offensive coordinator job (or is the Eagles’ offensive coordinator), Tenney would be a key internal candidate to replace him in the same role with the Colts. However, the Giants job would come with an upgrade, as with the Colts, Steichen is still in charge of the offensive playbook rather than being his offensive coordinator.
