MADRID (AP) — Real Madrid lost its second consecutive La Liga game as Martin Satriano’s stunning volley gave Getafe a 1-0 win at the Santiago Bernabeu on Monday.
The result prevented the capital club from closing the four-point gap on leaders Barcelona.

Getafe had lost all eight of their previous league games with Real Madrid and goalkeeper David Soria’s early save kept his side from falling behind.
Midway through the first half, Soria blocked Arda Guler’s shot and Vinicius frustrated him shortly after by firing home.
Real Madrid had more possession of the ball, but lacked impact in the frontcourt. Six minutes before half-time, Getafe took the lead, and Real Madrid paid the price for their profligacy.
A promising cross from the right was headed home, but the ball fell to Satriano, who volleyed into the net from 20 meters out.
It was the second goal in three games for the Uruguayan, who arrived on loan from Lyon during the last transfer window.

Real Madrid continued to dominate possession in the second half, with Antonio Rudiger and substitute Rodrygo both coming close to equalizing.
But it couldn’t find a way past Getafe’s sweltering defenders and the in-form Soria.
Real’s task became even more difficult when Franco Mastantono was sent off for dissent in stoppage time, and although Getafe’s Adrian Lisso was also shown a red card in the final minute to level the score, it was too late to make any impact.
Getafe ended up with a historic victory, their first at the Santiago Bernabeu since 2008, and secured a vital three points in their bid to stay in La Liga.

“It’s always very difficult to come here,” Getafe defender Kiko Femenia told broadcaster DAZN. “We have to congratulate the team, we did a great job at the back and scored every chance we had. We might have even scored more on the counter-attack.”
They jumped three places in the league to 11th, eight points above the relegation zone.
