halftime observation
-
For the first time this season, Bayern were soundly beaten at half-time.
-
Bad passes, unnecessary mistakes and an atmosphere of panic: that sums up Bayern’s game tonight.
45+5′ – Halftime, one of Bayern’s worst performances this season.
45′ – Four minutes of added time.
29′ — Nicolas Sewald goes into the referee’s notebook for a foul.
In the 24th minute, Leipzig missed a good opportunity and led 2-0.
23′ — Luis Diaz is offside, but he still can’t get the 1v1 conversion right.
20′ – Goal. Bayern did fall behind, and deservedly so.
16′ – Leipzig thought they had scored, but Bayern somehow cleared the ball in front of the goal.
10′ — So far there’s little difference between the two sides, but the Pyro are really raising their game.
kick off! — Go all out in the second half of the season!
One hour before kick-off: The lineup is out! It looks like Bayern Munich will start this game with zero right-backs in the starting lineup. So who goes there to play? Well, maybe Bischof, maybe Goretzka, maybe Ito. Whoever it is, we at least have some good news. Jamal Musiala returns to the team for the first time since injury! If all goes well, maybe we’ll see him get a few minutes in death.
Bayern Munich will officially begin the second half of the season, with games 18 to 34 taking place in the coming months. After a tough test away to Cologne, the Bavarians now head north to RB Leipzig, who are third in the Bundesliga. One might have thought that a 6-0 win in this reverse fixture took the wind completely out of their sails, but the Turf Ballers have bounced back and have had a solid season so far.

Bayern’s attack strikes fear into defenders across the country and Europe, but with the Champions League looming, Leipzig will want everything they can get from this game. For Bayern, it’s about making a statement and establishing authority over the league, something they’ve done plenty of times so far.
We have good news because Jamal Musiala is now back with the team! Whether he gets playing time today is out of our control, but we certainly hope Bayern can get the job done sooner rather than later so the 22-year-old can stretch his muscles a bit.
