Las Vegas Raiders head coach Clint Kubiak has been busy assembling his first coaching staff. In early March, Kubiak and general manager John Spectek will turn their attention to NFL free agency. According to “Over The Cap”, the Raiders are expected to enter the free agent market with approximately $91.5 million in salary space, ranking second in the NFL.
Many expected the Raiders to be interested in players the Seattle Seahawks allowed to hit free agency, and it’s easy to see why. Not only do the Seahawks have a great Super Bowl championship team, but Kubiak was their offensive coordinator last season. The connections are endless, as Kubiak likely plans to build his locker room culture with players he’s familiar with.

The Raiders need help on defense. Seahawks cornerback Riq Woolen is an interesting talent expected to be added. With the Seahawks seemingly unlikely to re-sign Woolen, the Raiders should target him.
The Raiders’ best cornerback, Eric Stokes, is also expiring on contract. Spytek should make a valiant effort to re-sign him. Even if Stokes stays, the Raiders will need to provide more proven depth and experience in the lineup to ease sophomore Darrion Porter down the stretch.
Despite winning the Super Bowl, Woolen had an up-and-down season with the Seahawks. The former UTSA standout was benched early in the season but quickly regained his spot. The Seahawks are deep in the backfield and Woolen is not expected to return in 2026.
The Raiders should strongly consider pursuing Woolen in free agency.
