UFC Baku has its main event starring Azerbaijani fighter Rafael Fiziev.
No. 11-ranked lightweight Fiziev will face dangerous unranked Manuel Torres, who has a 4-1 record in his past five fights, with all wins coming via first-round KO. “Ataman” holds the opposite record: 1-4 in the last five games, but has lost to top players such as Justin Gaethje (twice), Mateusz Ganrot and Mauricio Ruffy. Fiziev’s last win came last year against Ignacio Bahammonds in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Fiziev looked like a wrecking ball entering the UFC, but a series of knee injuries have slowed him down, and this five-round main event in his father’s home country could be his last chance to prove he can still make it at 155 pounds, or if he needs to move up to 145 pounds. A win could put him back in the top ten. A loss could knock him out of the rankings entirely.
UFC Fight Night: Fiziyev vs Torres will take place on June 27, 2026 at the 10,000-seat National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan. This is the UFC’s second event in the country, following the UFC event in June 2025 hosted by Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree.
