The Florida State Seminoles welcome a new punter to Tallahassee. Daniel Hughes, who spent the 2025 season with the New Mexico Lobos, has signed with FSU.
Hughes is 27 years old, from Melbourne, Australia, 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 235 pounds. He has three years of eligibility remaining and a 4.0 GPA. He also has a respectable following on social media and this article reveals his uniqueness.

Hughes spent a considerable year in New Mexico after spending last season in the JUCO. The numbers he put up weren’t school records, just a lack of punt totals on New Mexico State’s outstanding offense. His net average of 43.6 yards per punt (37 total punts) would be the second-best mark in Mountain West Conference history in addition to being a New Mexico school record.
