Barcelona midfielder Pedri continues to receive recognition from some of the biggest names in European football, with the latest praise coming from Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha.

In a recent interview with Portugal’s Canal 11 (h/t Mundo Deportivo), the PSG midfielder was asked to rate the best midfielder in world football.

Vitinha certainly didn’t hesitate in choosing players he felt deserved to be at the top of the list.

“I would put Pedri first. He is amazing. It’s great to watch him play. When you play against him you understand it better.

“Then, in the ‘top three’, it’s a bit difficult for me. It’s difficult to choose just two. I would choose Joao Neves and Bruno Fernandez.

“The two of them will be together with Pedri and me. So I don’t have a ‘top three’, I have a better ‘top four’,” he said.

The Barcelona midfielder has become a central figure in the club’s style of play thanks to his vision, intelligence and ability to control the tempo of the game.

At just 23 years old, Pedri is already widely regarded as one of the most influential midfielders in world football.

His performances at Barcelona have often been compared to legendary midfielders who once dominated the same position at the club.

The Portugal international was cautious in his response, choosing to emphasize humility while still acknowledging his level.

“I admit that I am one of the best players, but to say the best player seems a bit arrogant to me because it depends on people’s perception, on how long you have been at the top level, on the titles you win.

“But I do feel like I belong to that group because of what I’ve done in recent years, not because of this season,” he concluded.
