Three Powerball third-place tickets, worth $50,000 each, were sold in New York state for the Monday, Dec. 15 drawing, including one in the Finger Lakes region.
The lucky ticket was sold at the Watkins Glen 7-Eleven at 814 N. Frankin Street in the Schuyler County Village.
The Powerball jackpot had risen to an estimated $1.15 billion before December 15, but after no one won on Saturday, December 13.
Monday’s jackpot has an estimated cash value of $524.7 million, making it the sixth-largest Powerball jackpot in the game’s history. But the jackpot, now estimated at $1.25 billion, was once again increased after no one won Monday night.
Another third-prize Powerball ticket from the Dec. 15 drawing in New York state was sold at Bleecker Street and Queens Boulevard in Sunnyside, Manhattan, according to the New York Lottery.
The Watkins Glen winner is the third $50,000 Powerball ticket sold in the area in recent months. A third-prize ticket for the jackpot was sold on Dec. 10 at Campbell’s Mini Mart at 8488 Main St. in Steuben County Township, while the other third-prize ticket was sold at a Hornell Wegmans in Steuben County on Aug. 27 when the jackpot was worth $861 million.
