One Lucky Valley resident just got the ultimate early holiday surprise. Someone in Phoenix won $50,000 in Powerball in the Dec. 8 drawing, and the prize was immediately doubled to $100,000 thanks to the addition of Power Play, according to Arizona Lottery officials.
The winning ticket was sold at the Paradise Liquor Minimart, 722 SW Phoenix Blvd. The winning numbers were revealed on Monday night and no one won the huge prize.
Arizona Lottery officials encourage all players to double-check their tickets in case of two lightning strikes.
