A 41-year-old Ponte Vedra man was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with a hit-and-run crash, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO).
Troopers said Christopher John Bondani’s car was involved in a crash on A1A North in Ponte Vedra Beach just after 3:30 p.m.

When officers tried to pull Bondani over, he did not stop even though the patrol car had its lights and siren on, officials said.
The pursuit ended in a neighborhood on Payasada Circle, where officers took him into custody.
According to the arrest report, Bondani told police he didn’t realize he was in a car accident and was just trying to get home.
Officers reported smelling alcohol and found two empty cans of hard seltzer in his car.
Authorities said Bondani refused to submit to breath tests at the scene and at the county jail.
Bondani is an attorney with Hill & Bondani, PLLC in St. Johns County, according to the Florida Bar website. Public records show he was conditionally suspended in 2019.
SJSO said he now faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident while injured, fleeing law enforcement and refusing a DUI test.
