The suspect detained in connection with the Brown University shooting is reportedly a 24-year-old man training with the U.S. Army.

CNN – citing multiple law enforcement sources – has identified the person of interest as Benjamin Erickson … The man is from Wisconsin and served in the military from 2021 to 2024, according to his LinkedIn profile, which has since been deleted.

Erickson reportedly passed sniper training, engaged in firearms instruction, and eventually left the military after achieving the rank of “expert.”

A U.S. Army spokesman told the outlet he was never deployed… His social media shows he served at Arlington National Cemetery.
