Not only did it raise awareness of this throughout the school, but they also stupidly showed us how to make them and use them to cause bee stings.”

4. “Our head gym teacher was involved in not one, but two pregnancy scandals. During my senior year, he got the girl’s gym teacher pregnant (both were single). He also got a senior in my graduating class pregnant during his senior year. The second one came to light before graduation, so I don’t know how it played out.”

7. “A very popular male teacher – early 30s, everyone’s best friend – slept on his desk with female students in his classroom. He had a lock on his door and a garbage bag in the window under the door, which we all thought was weird. He said it helped him focus during grading.”

“Eventually one of the girls got such bad grades that her parents started questioning her and she basically admitted that her mental health was in bad shape because the teacher was sleeping with her without protection multiple times a week.

When the school found out, the teacher was suspended and suddenly all the other girls were coming forward as victims (privately, but the rumor quickly spread around the school). There must have been eight or nine in total by the end – it turned out he was having sex with/making them have sex with multiple different students.

He was charged and convicted soon after the guilty plea. “

10. “One of the teachers behaved very inappropriately towards a female student. Our school newspaper wrote a report about this incident, which was censored by the principal. The journalism teacher argued that our newspaper was a forum for student expression and could not be censored by the school. The principal disagreed. The incident became a big deal and the report was not published. The teacher involved is also the town police chief, so it may be related to this incident.”

14. “During winter break, my first-grade math teacher was caught meeting someone he thought was a 12-year-old boy at a McDonald’s in the next state over. There was lube, condoms, a liquor cabinet, the whole nine yards in the trunk. And the worst part was, I found out that I wasn’t actually an A student in math, I think he just had a crush on me.”

15. “A disgruntled student drilled a hole in the dean’s office window, poured five gallons of gasoline, and threw in a match. A ‘vocational studies’ student (i.e., a high-support kid training to be a janitor) rode his bike home, saw the fire, called 911, and likely saved the school from burning down. That kid won a prize and a photo in the student newspaper. But was back sweeping the floors the next week.”

19. “The kids used keyloggers to capture their teachers’ logins to the online grading system. They started asking the kids to change their grades for certain courses they had access to. Eventually, a teacher noticed some grades had changed and notified the administration. The police got involved; it ended up being quite a big incident. The kid behind it was pulled out of the school system before being expelled. Pretty sure they went to Ivy League schools, some of which praised them for their clever discovery.”

twenty four. Finally (and disgustingly): “Our school had a pep rally in the gym. The captains of the winter team sports were blindfolded and told they were going to be kissed and had to guess who the person kissing them was (they assumed it was another student), only for their parents to come over and kiss them/make out really damn close. This is something they do every four years from what I heard until it was recorded by a student and it made the news. They don’t do it anymore. ‘Prank’ at school.”
