Just like we did for the Pinstripe Bowl opt-out thread, we’ll update this article as players enter the transfer portal. As a reminder, players won’t be able to officially enter until January 2nd. For now, they’re just announcing their intentions.
OL Alex Birchmire (12/19/25)

Alex Birchmeier is a top-100 recruit in the 2023 recruiting class who will never reach his lofty recruiting rankings at Penn State. He redshirted in 2023 and then struggled to get on the field for anything other than special teams work. He finished his career at Pleasant Valley, playing just 33 games on the offensive line, and will now transfer with two seasons of eligibility remaining.
De Chaz Coleman (12/18/25)
Despite Penn State’s best efforts to retain Chaz Coleman, the talented true freshman defensive end is headed for the portal. Where will he end up? Ohio State University, duh. That remains to be seen. He can go anywhere! But he won’t be going to Happy Valley again, having missed 1 sack and 3 games in the TFL season due to: Portitis Injuried.
CB Elliott Washington (12/11/25)
advertise
Washington left Penn State after three seasons with the Nittany Lions, where he was a rotation cornerback but never a full-time starter. In 2025, he saw his playing time dwindle as the year wore on. He’s played 30 or more games in four of his first six games: Florida International, Oregon, UCLA and Northwestern. In the final six games, he played more than 20 snaps in only one game: Ohio State. So while Washington will likely be a rotation cornerback again, the writing is on the wall for him to be Penn State’s starter in 2026.
