AJ Brown’s tenuous status with the Philadelphia Eagles made the New England Patriots even more encouraging on Tuesday.
Brown could be heading to the trade block earlier this offseason. The 28-year-old finished the 2025 regular season with 1,003 receiving yards, his fourth consecutive 1,000-yard season and sixth of his career. Now two seasons away from the Eagles winning Super Bowl LIX in 2025, Brown is one of the most notable players in trade speculation this offseason.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni is more confident about Brown’s uncertain future in Philadelphia ahead of the 2026 NFL Combine, ESPN’s Tim McManus reports.
“Is AJ still going to be here next season? I think we’re still in a position where, like, I can’t guarantee what’s going to happen next season,” Sirianni said. “I think I will be the coach next season but you can’t guarantee anything after tomorrow.”
The Patriots currently have the second-highest odds to trade Brown this offseason.
In the 2025 regular season, New England ranked fourth in receiving yards with 4,459. The rich can get even richer by pursuing a trade for Brown, pairing the Mississippians with their own 1,000-yard receiver in Stefon Diggs next season. Only three teams had multiple 1,000-yard receivers last season. Brown joins Diggs as one of 19 receivers in the class of 2025 to achieve the feat.
