The Green Bay Packers will sign former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to a two-year contract worth up to $23 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Hargrave, who turned 33 in February, was released by the Vikings on Wednesday.

The signing gives the Packers a starting-caliber defensive tackle — helping with the team’s biggest offseason need — and reunites Hargrave with Jonathan Gannon, who served as Philadelphia’s defensive coordinator during two of his most devastating seasons.
Last year with the Vikings, Hargrave had 537 snaps, 31 pressures and 20 blocks. He played in 16 of 17 games for Minnesota, finishing with 3.5 sacks, six quarterback hits and four tackles for loss.
Hargrave saw 63 pressures (91.6 PFF pass-rushing grade) and 66 pressures (91.1 pass-rushing grade) during Gannon’s time in Philadelphia in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, his 66 pressures hit a career high; in 2021, his pass rush score reached a career-high 91.6 points.
Hargaff began his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers and was part of two consecutive Super Bowl losing teams, the first with the Eagles in 2022 and the second with the 49ers in 2023.
