In the competitive landscape of Belgian football, Omar Diouf has quickly become a player to watch. The Senegal international has been in exciting form since joining RFC Liege in the summer of 2025, contributing seven goals and three assists in just 15 Serie B games. This prolific start did not go unnoticed, with several clubs expressing interest. Africafoot can exclusively report that Saint-Truiden have made an offer for the Dakar-born striker, although it is understood to be below his current valuation set by the club.

Diouf began his footballing education at Kalele Football Club in Ziguinchor before honing his skills at the renowned talent incubator Darussalam Academy. His explosive speed, versatility and smart positioning were evident early on, qualities emphasized by his former coach. Senegal U17 and U20 national team coach Malik Duff shares his insights on player development: “Omar is a strong forward who can play as a center forward or a winger. His work ethic and determination set him apart.”
Diouf made a measured and self-aware assessment of his promising first season in Belgium as he reflected on his adaptation to European football. He told CAFAF: “At the start of my season I can say it’s going well, although I know I can do better. A lot of things have changed in my game: my confidence, my movement off the ball, and being in the right place at the right moment. The Belgian Championship is very different compared to last year when I was in Cyprus.”
He credits his quick adaptation to the RFC Liège environment and highlighted the role played by the club’s faith in him: “I wouldn’t necessarily talk about ‘key elements’ but the confidence that the coach and the staff gave me. That comes with a responsibility: to give my all on the pitch. I put in a lot of effort in terms of shooting, running and running in front of the goal.”
Amid growing transfer rumors, the young striker has maintained a stunning focus and calm demeanor. When asked about a possible move, he said: “At the moment, I have not been told anything about transfers. It is the job of my agent, who manages it. For my part, I am focused on the first part of the season and for the rest, I leave it to God.”

Despite rumors of interest from big clubs, Diouf remains grounded. He gave a mature view of his future: “I heard rumors about the club proposing to me, but I welcomed them calmly and without pressure. Of course, I have personal ambitions, like every footballer: to reach new levels and improve every day.” A combination of talent, hard work and composure suggests that Omar Diouf’s development trajectory is on a steady upward trajectory, whether his future lies at RFC Liège or elsewhere.
