The Ohio State wide receiver has declared for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Junior wide receiver Carnell Tate posted a message on social media stating that he will declare for the 2026 NFL Draft.

He caught 51 passes for 875 yards and nine touchdowns for the Buckeyes last season.

In the thank-you note he posted X and InstagramTate thanked his family, coaches and teammates for their support.
“Being a Buckeye has been an amazing journey that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” he said. “I have dreamed of being in this program since day one, and now that dream has come true. This program has pushed me to be my best, taught me how to compete at the highest level, and has given me memories and relationships I will never forget.”
Tate also thanked his coaches, including Ohio State head coach Ryan Day and former Ohio State offensive coordinator Brian Hartline.

“The lessons you learned on and off the field made me a better player and a better person,” he said. “I decided to take the next step in my career and declare for the NFL Draft. I am proud of everything I accomplished at Ohio State and will always carry with me the lessons, relationships and memories from this program.”
Under rules, underclassmen must submit a petition to the league by Jan. 14 to declare for the NFL Draft NFL.com.
Jan. 23 is the deadline for underclassmen to qualify for the College Football Playoff National Championship.
