LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Officials with the Arkansas Alcoholic Beverage Commission said Wednesday they have decided to revoke the liquor license of a North Little Rock adult club.
The Peppermint Hippo off Interstate 40 in North Little Rock has lost its Class B private club license, officials said. Officials said the license allows the club to stay open until 5 a.m.

Board director Christy Bjornson said the decision was prompted by reports of multiple serious violations at the club, some of which resulted in injuries or deaths and posed a direct threat to public health. Officials added that reports of more unauthorized credit card transactions, some of which amounted to tens of thousands of dollars, were a factor in the decision, as were multiple open felony police investigations into those transactions.
Peppermint Hippo has 15 days to appeal to the ABC board. Officials said the revocation remains in effect pending appeals.
Mint Hippos management responded to the ABC order: “Mint Hippos strongly disagrees with the ABC Directors’ decision, which does not accurately reflect the evidence presented, and we vehemently deny the allegations cited. We are appealing the decision and look forward to a full and fair hearing before the ABC Board of Directors. Regardless of one’s personal feelings about our industry, this club supports many hard-working individuals and families, and we take that responsibility seriously while pursuing the appropriate legal process.”
A spokesman said the club would remain open during the appeal.
