AHMEDABAD: South Africa are one of the favorites after their victory over India.
Talking about the mood of the team, left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj said: “Coming back from the win against India, there is a real energy and excitement in our camp. We beat the best team in the competition but we are not getting carried away. We still know there is a lot of cricket to be played in this game. So, we are dusting ourselves off and doing some things that we can do better from this game.”
Maharaj, however, disagreed that South Africa would have an advantage as they were already camped in Ahmedabad. “It’s nice not to travel, but from a court perspective, every game is different. The four games we’ve played here, the conditions have been very different, so I don’t think it’s a huge advantage. Just making sure we adapt faster than our opponents, rather than later.”
