No. 9 Gonzaga overcomes absence of top 2 scorers to beat Seattle U. 71-50

SEATTLE (AP) — Mario Saint-Supery came off the bench to score a career-high 20 points and ninth-ranked Gonzaga overcame the absence of two scorers to beat Seattle University 71-50 on Saturday night for its 12th straight victory.

Jalen Warley scored 14 points and David Fogle added 13 for the Bulldogs (19-1, 7-0 West Coast Conference). St. Super made 7 of 10 shots from the field and 4 of 6 three-pointers.

Brayden Maldonado led Seattle (13-7, 2-5) with 12 points. Houran Dan added 10.

Gonzaga forward Graham Ek struggled in Thursday night’s 86-65 win over Washington State, missing the game with ankle soreness. He is considered everyday. Forward Brayden Huff suffered a knee injury in practice this week and will miss four to eight weeks.

On January 2, the Bulldogs defeated Seattle University 80-72 in overtime, with Ike and Huff combining for 52 points.

The team led 49-42 with 8:18 left in the game. Gonzaga scored nine straight points, including back-to-back scoring runs by Fogel and Worley on second chances, to pull the score to 58-42. Bulldogs score 14 points on 13 offensive rebounds
