Nintendo Will Reportedly Host a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase Next Week

Nintendo is reportedly planning to hold a Nintendo Direct presentation in February. According to industry sources, the Switch manufacturer is expected to return to the first official live broadcast of 2026 as soon as next week. The demo will reportedly be a partner showcase, where third-party developers will showcase upcoming games on Nintendo platforms.

Partner showcase planned for February

This information comes from renowned insider NateTheHate, who has a track record of getting accurate scoops from the gaming industry. In his latest video, which highlights Nintendo Switch 2 predictions for 2026, the tipster claims that Nintendo will host a direct stream “sometime in February.”

“As far as I know, the first Direct in 2026 will be held in the first week of February and is expected to air on Thursday, February 5,” he said, citing sources.

Later on at X, the tipster specified the format of the Nintendo Direct demo, claiming the event would be a partner showcase.

Nintendo Direct: Partner showcase event featuring games from third-party developers coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The last partner showcase was held in July 2025, which showcased games such as Star Wars Desperados, Cronos: A New Dawn, Yakuza: Yakuza and Yakuza 2, and Octopath Traveler 0 for Switch 2.

Nintendo has yet to confirm plans for a direct reveal in February.

This week, the company held a direct presentation dedicated to social simulation game Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, which will be coming to Nintendo Switch on April 16, 2026.

Nintendo fans have been eagerly awaiting the full Nintendo Direct presentation, where Nintendo will likely reveal major first-party games coming to Switch 2 in 2026, including the highly anticipated next Super Mario game.

The last full Nintendo Direct was held in December 2025, where the Japanese company shared updates for Fire Emblem: Weave of Fortune, Donkey Kong Bananza DLC, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, and other first-party games.
