Nintendo Will Host an Indie World Showcase for Switch and Switch 2 Games This Week

Nintendo has announced this week’s Indie World Showcase, which includes updates and announcements about indie games for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. The showcase will be broadcast on Nintendo’s YouTube channel on August 7th. This indie game demo follows last week’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, which showcased updates from third-party developers for Switch and Switch 2 games launching in 2025 and beyond.

Nintendo announces Indie World Showcase

The Indie World Showcase will take place on Thursday, August 7 at 6am PT (6:30pm IST). The show will be approximately 15 minutes long and will feature new announcements and updates for Nintendo Switch 2 and indie games on Nintendo Switch, the company said.

Nintendo didn’t reveal details about the games that will be showcased at the showcase, but fans are already speculating that the event might finally bring a long-awaited update for Hollow Knight: Silk Song. The action-platformer is set to launch before the 2025 holidays, but developer Team Cherry has yet to confirm a release date.

The game was unveiled at the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 and Microsoft ROG Xbox Ally handheld devices earlier this year. Hollow Knight: Silk Song will be available on PC (Linux, Windows, Mac), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.

Last week, Nintendo’s global publishing and development partners shared the latest information on upcoming Switch and Switch 2 games at Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase. At the press conference, we unveiled Monster Hunter Story 3: Twisted Reflection, the next entry in the Monster Hunter Story series; updates to the Switch 2 versions of EA Sports Madden NFL 26 and EA Sports FC 26; Switch 2 announcements of Yakuza 2 and Yakuza 2, among other content.
