New York Giants to interview Raheem Morris for head coaching job

The New York Giants will interview former Atlanta Falcons head coach Raheem Morris for their head coaching vacancy.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that Morris plans to hold formal head coaching interviews with three teams next week: the Giants, Arizona Cardinals and Tennessee Titans.

Morris, 49, was recently relieved of his duties in Atlanta after serving as the Falcons’ head coach. Prior to that, he served as the Los Angeles Rams’ defensive coordinator from 2021 to 2023, earning widespread respect and helping lead the team to the Super Bowl LVI championship in the 2021 season.

He also has head coaching experience, having led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a 17-31 record in three seasons from 2009 to 2011 (including interim coaching).

Known for his strong defensive schemes, player relationships and leadership, Morris has long been viewed as a rising coaching talent. His candidacy comes as multiple teams conduct searches after the 2025 season.

For the Giants, the interview represents part of a broader effort to find new leadership and rebuild after recent struggles. With interest from multiple teams, Morris will soon get his third head coaching opportunity.
