Connecticut’s commute could get chaotic Monday morning as the state continues to work its way out of the effects of Winter Storm Abraham.
A winter weather warning will be in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday, according to AccuWeather. Meteorologists said freezing rain was expected across much of the state, with ice as thick as two-tenths of an inch.
Ice could make roads slippery and cause havoc during Monday morning’s commute, according to weather officials.

Weather officials said parts of Connecticut’s northwest portion of Interstate 95 will see the heaviest rainfall and ice accumulation.

Weather officials are warning commuters to prepare for slippery road conditions and use caution Monday morning.
“Roadways, especially bridges and overpasses, may become slick and dangerous. Travel conditions may be difficult. Hazardous conditions may affect Monday morning’s commute, especially northwest of the I-95 corridor,” AccuWeather said.
