The NCAA said of the policy: “The NCAA Player Availability Reporting Policy supports the integrity of Division I men’s and women’s basketball tournaments by requiring timely and accurate disclosure of student-athlete participation status. This policy is part of the NCAA’s sports betting risk mitigation strategy and is designed to prevent the misuse of inside information while promoting institutional transparency and good faith reporting.”
