Myles Garrett hopes to set single-season record with a sack of Aaron Rodgers

Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is just one sack away from the single-season record. He hopes to do that by beating Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“[Rodgers is] “He’s a legend himself, and I’m chasing a legendary record here,” Garrett said Friday, via Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com. Great for hanging a painting on the wall“.

Garrett currently has 22 sacks. The record of 22.5 is shared by Hall of Famer Michael Strahan and Rodgers’ current teammate, linebacker TJ Watt.

Of course, it’s possible Rodgers has an off day. If the Ravens lose to the Packers on Saturday night, then “possible“This will impact Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin’s personnel decisions as the Steelers look to lock up the AFC North title before their Week 17 game at Cleveland.

That might give Garrett a chance to set the record by sacking old rival Mason Rudolph. Of course, if Tomlin decides to go with Rudolph instead of giving rookie Will Howard some game reps, he could become the team’s option behind Rodgers.

No matter who the quarterback is, Garrett only needs one. Rodgers is unlikely to provide the same help to Garrett as his Green Bay predecessor Brett Favre did, Did it for Strahan 24 years ago.
