Digital Eclipse, which is helming Mortal Kombat: Legacy Collection, has yet to announce an official release date for the game. But some users spotted a release date listed on the Xbox app’s games page over the weekend (via IGN ). According to the listing image, Mortal Kombat: Legacy Collection will be released on September 29th. According to reports, the release date also appears as September 30, depending on the user’s location.
When looking for the game on the Xbox app in India, the release date currently mentioned in the listing is June 6, 2025, the date the game was announced at State of Play.
Leaked release date details appeared on Reddit’s r/GamingLeaksAndRumours. Some commenters on the post suggested that the release date confirmation for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Collection could be officially announced at the Evo event in Las Vegas starting on August 1st.
The Mortal Kombat: Legacy series received a trailer at State of Play last month. The series will bring together arcade, home console and portable versions of the first four classic Mortal Kombat games, as well as a selection of handheld titles.
Legacy Kollection will also support online play and include additional content such as an interactive documentary about the history of the series, interviews with the original Mortal Kombat developers, and a detailed history and timeline of the MK character.
The collection will be released on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.
