NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Thousands of people in Middle Tennessee have been without reliable power for days, with crews working around the clock to try to restore power to customers.
In a south Nashville neighborhood, News 2 spoke with Adonis Marzos, who said he was staying at his cousin’s house because his home has been without power since Saturday.
“We don’t know what to do if there’s no one there. It could be cold in the house…” …maybe 32 degrees [in the house]”.
Ellington Circle residents told News 2 people have gone to warm up their cars and charge their phones.

Asha Vitek said she was staying at a friend’s house because her home had not been without power since Sunday morning.
“Sunday morning around 6:30 to 6:43 we had a power outage and we dealt with that but the house was really cold and then Sunday night it was really cold and we just kind of couldn’t stand it,” Whitaker told News 2. “By the next morning, it was freezing and I was sitting on the couch in a down jacket and layers of pants, texting and trying to figure out what to do, and my fingers were frozen and I was like ‘OK, this is not sustainable.'”
As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nashville Electric Service said about 119,000 customers were still without power. At least 216 broken poles were reported damaged within its service area. The utility said about 700 line workers were deployed Tuesday morning, along with 207 vegetation management teams.
