John McGlynn is relaxed about Falkirk’s recent lack of goals, saying the club are still in the Premier League “honeymoon period”.
The Baines are fifth after a 3-0 win over Dundee United last month but have since fallen into a void in three successful games, with two straight goalless draws against Rangers and Motherwell and a 3-0 defeat at Hibernian last weekend.

“These are tough games so you can understand why they [dry up],” McGlynn said ahead of Saturday’s visit from league leaders Hearts.
“But our goals are shared and we are not tied to one particular person. They usually come from all over. It’s not like we have a number nine who scored 25 goals but he’s injured now. Our goals come from all over.”
“So even though we may not have scored in the last three games, we’ve been picking up points and that’s what it’s all about. I don’t care about the goals we’re scoring. They’re really coming from all over.”
Despite slipping into the bottom six, McGlynn’s excitement for a top-flight challenge has not diminished.

“We’re still like a team that went from League One to the Championship to the Premier League and we’re still enjoying it,” he said. “The honeymoon period is still there because we are still getting results.
“The players are still full of enthusiasm. The enthusiasm has not gone away. We have goals we want to achieve.
“We’ve got 15 points from 11 games in the first round and out of those 11 games we’ve gone into five games in the second round and we’ve got six points. So you have to really think about how many points we need to get to get there and we’re on track.
“As long as we can maintain a positive points ratio in games then we can maintain that buffer [from the teams near the bottom]”.
