A couple was arrested after being caught having sex in the parking lot of an Applebee’s in Maryland.
Maryland State Police confirmed that Sgt. Anthony Jones According to a press release shared by the department, on Monday, January 12, the department responded to a report of indecent exposure at the Applebee’s located at 45480 Miramar Way, California, Maryland.
Upon Jones’ arrival, officers found Kanisha Latasha Gross Lexington Park and james matthew washington Capitol Heights and caught them while they were having sex.
Gross, 35, and Washington, 58, were later arrested at the scene and taken to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. They were both charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct, according to the release.
Gross and Washington are both likely free on bail because there was no record of either man in an inmate search at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.

Maryland State Police did not respond to Us Weekly’s request for an update on the case.
It was unclear whether Gross or Washington had entered a plea or retained legal representation. At the same time, it is not known how or if the two knew each other before the incident.

In the case of Gross and Washington, disorderly conduct also includes sexual conduct in a public place.

For those found guilty of disorderly conduct in Maryland, common penalties include being sentenced to up to 60 days in jail and being ordered to pay a fine of up to $500. In fact, some of those found guilty have been sentenced to serve time and pay fines.
Gross and Washington could face additional penalties if they are found guilty of indecent exposure. For those charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure in Maryland, they could face up to three years in prison, be ordered to pay a fine of up to $1,000, or both.
In order to be convicted in Maryland, prosecutors must prove “that the conduct was intentional and involved exposure of genitals in public or in the presence of a person other than a spouse,” according to the Maronick Law LLC website. The law firm added that those accused of indecent exposure often dispute the intent behind the conduct or claim mistaken identity.
Maryland law defines indecent exposure as when a person intentionally exposes his or her genitals in a public place or to a person who would not ordinarily see their genitals. Examples of indecent exposure in Maryland include public urination or defecation, flashing, streaking, public masturbation, public sex, or sombreness.
