Manchester City players to refund traveling fans following shock Champions League defeat to Bodø/Glimt

Manchester City fans who traveled to Norway to watch their Champions League defeat to Bodø/Glimt on Tuesday will be refunded the cost of their tickets.

City’s captain’s group, which includes Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Rodri, issued a joint statement saying reimbursing the 374 fans who traveled (nearly $13,400) “is the least we can do.”

“Our supporters mean everything to us. We know the sacrifices our fans make all over the world to support us home and away and we never take that for granted. They are the best fans in the world.

“We also recognize that for fans who support us in cold weather and have a difficult night at the stadium, they will need to travel to Bodo. Paying for these tickets for fans traveling to Bodo is the least we can do.

“We are ready to fight against Wolves on Saturday and next Wednesday we face Galatasaray in front of our fans at the Etihad Stadium.”

Haaland apologized to Manchester City fans after the game, calling the result “embarrassing”. Head coach Guardiola said “everything went wrong” and the team was “a bit fragile” at the moment.
