Man dies following Augusta County crash on Interstate 64

Virginia State Police say a man is dead after a midweek crash on Interstate 64.

Police said a man driving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on mile marker 98 in Augusta County around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 10 when his pickup truck veered off the right side of the road, hit an embankment and rolled over multiple times.

The driver, Gabe L. Frye, 26, of Boston, Virginia, was ejected. He was taken to a local hospital, but died from his injuries. Police said Frye was not wearing a seat belt.

The accident remains under investigation.
