Major starter for Panthers returning to practice on Wednesday

The Carolina Panthers could be getting some sizable help before the regular season ends.

As announced Wednesday morning, the team has designated starting right guard Robert Hunter to return to practice. The 2024 Pro Bowler is now expected to play before the Panthers’ Week 17 game against the Seattle Seahawks this afternoon.

Hunter tore his biceps tendon in a Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He was placed on injured reserve the next day and has missed the past 13 games as a result.

With Hunter out since mid-September, the Panthers have had to use a few different options at right guard, including Chandler Zavala, Brady Christensen, Jake Cohan and, most recently, Austin Corbett.

Carolina has 21 days to return Hunter to the active roster.
