Not only are blockbuster trades starting to emerge in the NFL offseason, but many players are also making decisions. Some are deciding whether to rejoin their teams or become free agents.

Other players are deciding if it’s time to call it a career. The Super Bowl-winning cornerback for the Los Angeles Rams informed his decision.

The decision isn’t entirely shocking. Williams, who turns 33 next week, is a potential cap candidate.

The Rams are also expected to retool their secondary after a difficult 2025 season. Williams informed the Rams of his decision, which will save them $7 million in cap space in 2026.

Williams entered the league in 2018 as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens. The Rams claimed Williams off waivers, and he later contributed to the Rams’ Super Bowl victory in 2021.

Williams spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars before returning to the Rams for the final two seasons. He has 12 career interceptions, 77 passes defended and two defensive touchdowns.
