president Donald Trump Found a new way to make the internet go crazy on Saturday – a ritual coin toss before the Army vs. Navy football game.
But there’s just one problem with it – the coin doesn’t appear to be spinning at all. As Outkick’s Clay Travis X noted that it was an “unprecedented coin toss that didn’t appear to flip at all.”
The president stood at midfield at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland, grabbed the coin from the referee’s hand, made a funny face and asked, “Are you all ready?”
He then picked up the coin with his gloved right hand and tossed it into the air — almost as if he was throwing an alley-oop to an NBA star. Trump pointed to the coin on the ground, for good measure, and then the referee said it came up tails, meaning the Army won the coin toss.
This lack of coin flipping had many X users laughing, with one user joking that Trump “just invented a whole new way to flip a coin.”
Another joked that he performed “the worst coin toss” in history and was in the “Hall of Shame” for it.
On Bluesky, meanwhile, users are more critical.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise, though, considering the platform has been dubbed “blue heaven” by liberals seeking to abandon it. Elon Musk’s X, after Trump wins the 2024 election.
One user said Trump’s unique coin tossing behavior was a sign of aging, while another nicknamed him “Dementia Donnie” for it.
Another user, Dan Gatlandfound this more amusing than anything, saying Trump “looks like a space alien who is completely unfamiliar with the concept.”
