Joe Gomez leaving Liverpool?
Joe Gomez looks likely to leave Liverpool this summer, according to Caughtoffside. It’s not entirely certain yet, but preparations are being made in that direction.

Gomez has been at Liverpool since 2015, predating Jurgen Klopp’s appointment. This means he is the only player in the squad to have played under three different managers at the Reds.
What a brilliant career he had. Gomez won it all at Liverpool and served as the starting central defender in the 2019/20 season, helping the Reds win their first league title in 30 years. Only injuries have interrupted his incredible run of form.
Unfortunately, that’s been Gomez’s story at Liverpool. The talent was always there, the drive was always there and there was no doubt he was a good fit for various teams over the years.
But some really serious injuries always took the wind out of him, leading to a long, drawn-out recovery process. This is indeed what prevents Gomez from retaining his starting spot at Liverpool.

With the Reds now investing in young centre-backs, it does feel like he has to go elsewhere if he is to have a regular starting spot. It seems Liverpool do believe this.
