Attention now turns to today’s clash with Brighton, who currently lead Liverpool on goal difference at the top of the Premier League table.

However, Liverpool’s preparations for this game were not smooth and suffered many blows…

In the defence, both right backs are absent. Jeremy Frimpong remains sidelined with a hamstring problem but could return against Tottenham Hotspur next week, while Conor Bradley is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card in the 3-3 draw with Leeds United.

Wataru Endo is one of the midfielders to miss Brighton’s game with an ankle injury.

Slaughter faces a major headache on offense. Cody Gakpo will be out until after Christmas with a muscle issue. Alexander Isak is also doubtful after picking up an injury against Inter Milan.

Federico Chiesa has recovered and is available for selection. Mohamed Salah, of course, is back in the squad after staying home to travel to Milan following last week’s outburst at Elland Road.
