The LG UltraGear GX9 series was announced on Monday. The company’s latest lineup of gaming monitors includes three models and will be unveiled at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which kicks off on January 7 in Las Vegas. LG UltraGear OLED 45GX990A is equipped with a 45-inch flexible OLED display with a resolution of 5K and is bendable. LG said it has won the title of “Best Innovation” at the CES 2025 Innovation Awards.
At the same time, the company will launch two other gaming monitors, one of which will be powered by its webOS platform.
LG UltraGear GX9 Series Features
According to LG, the UltraGear OLED 45GX990A is equipped with a 45-inch bendable screen with a resolution of 5K2K (5,120 x 2,160 pixels). It has an aspect ratio of 21:9, which is claimed to provide a more immersive gaming experience than a standard 16:9 monitor. Gaming monitors can transition from completely flat screens to displays with 900R curvature.
Meanwhile, the LG UltraGear OLED 45GX950A model also has the same resolution and aspect ratio as the 45GX990A. But it’s not a bendable display, but an 800R curved screen with a pixels per inch (PPI) density of 125 pixels and an RGBB sub-pixel layout.
According to the company, both models come with second-generation dual-mode technology, offering eight customizable refresh rate and screen resolution configurations. They also support DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 technologies. The LG UltraGear 45GX990A and 45GX950A are NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certified, which is said to provide a smoother gaming experience and reduce screen tearing. Additionally, both gaming monitors support the latest graphics cards and features like Variable Refresh Rate (VRR).
On the other hand, the LG UltraGear 39GX90SA comes with a 39-inch OLED display with 800R curvature and 21:9 aspect ratio. It’s powered by LG’s webOS platform, which it says can help it become an entertainment and gaming hub, allowing users to enjoy streaming services without the need for a PC or set-top box. For connectivity, it comes with a USB Type-C port.
