King, 31, became a free agent in November after not being tendered by the St. Louis Cardinals. His contract is worth $1.5 million, according to ESPN.
King appeared in 51 games for the Cardinals last season, going 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA. He began his MLB career with the Texas Rangers in 2020 before spending the past 2.5 seasons in St. Louis. He has a 16-14 record in 253 1/3 innings with a career ERA of 3.80.
The Marlins have been busy in free agency recently, agreeing to a $4 million, one-year contract with right-hander Chris Paddack on Monday. In December, Miami also signed right-handed reliever Pete Fairbanks and utility player Christopher Morell.
King will join Cade Gibson, Josh Simpson and Andrew Nardy as left-handed relievers on the Marlins’ 40-man roster.
